Veteran with memory issues reported missing in Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS – 69-year-old Edward Vanarsbale has been reported missing by the Colorado Springs Police Department.

Mr. Vanarsbale is a former homeless military veteran who recently moved to Colorado Springs from Alaska. According to CSPD, he has been missing from his northeast Colorado Springs home near Palm Dr. and Troy Ct. since 9:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Police said he left his home on a blue and silver road bicycle and stated he was heading to the are of N. Academy Blvd. and Austin Bluffs Pkwy. CSPD also said he enjoys the Village Inn and Old Chicago restaurants in that area. He is not familiar with any other areas of Colorado Springs.

According to police, he is in good general health but does suffer from some mild short-term memory issues.

Mr. Vanarsbale is described as a white male with a thin build. He is about 5’10” and has shoulder-length gray hair. Police said he was last seen wearing a black knit cap, dark green hoodie, blue jeans, and black tennis shoes.
