COLORADO SPRINGS – The former owner of Innovative Roofing and Construction was sentenced to four years in prison for felony theft this week as a result of repeated complaints from angry customers.

Prosecutors secured a guilty plea from Jeffrey Masias in August on charges he stole between $5,000 and $20,000.

Masias has another court date in November. That’s when Judge Gregory Werner will preside over a restitution hearing for Masias’ former customers.

The Pikes Peak Regional Building Department’s Board of Review had revoked his license for home improvement services in late 2016.

The Better Business Bureau also confirmed they’ve fielded more than 17 complaints from customers since 2014 about his business.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado Springs Police Department reached out to the community in January 2017 as they investigated claims of wrongdoing by Masias.
