COLORADO SPRINGS – If you’ve spent any time at all on southbound I-25 at Rockrimmon, you’ve experienced the semi-confusing split lane configuration that’s been in place for months now.
Here’s the good news-bad news. The split lanes on the southbound side of the interstate are over as of today. Southbounders are being shifted onto the newly completed lanes, which will help with some of the slowing on that stretch.
The lane split moves to the northbound side on Wednesday. Remember to stay in your lane through the split and be prepared for back-ups through the workzone.
This is all part of a 12-million dollar project to extend the life of the life of the bridge and address some of the ground settlement issues that have plagued the interchange since its completion a decade ago.
