Pueblo West man arrested for series of thefts

PUEBLO – After a months-long investigation, deputies in Pueblo County arrest a man linked to a string of thefts in Pueblo West.

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Marquise Adams on September 18 at his home in the 200 block of E. Homer Drive after finding property taken from a vehicle on September 10th.

In all, Adams is liked to thousands of dollars in property that was reported stolen from six vehicles and three homes in the Pueblo West area.

Witnesses lead deputies to Adam’s home, reporting the possibly of stolen property inside the home. Witnesses also reported seeing a man walk from the home across the street with two duffel bags that were also reported stolen in a vehicle break-in. The witness told deputies he saw the suspect run to the back of the home and that’s where they were able to quickly find and arrest him.

Deputies searched two homes on the street that are connected to the suspect and found more stolen items. They also found property at pawn shops that was reportedly taken in the string of thefts. That property has since been returned to the owners.

A third address is also now linked to the crimes a home on E. Cellini Drive. Deputies say more arrests are possible. Adams is charged with first-degree criminal trespass, resisting arrest and four counts of theft.
