COLORADO – The Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles is experiencing some problems statewide, impacting drivers license and vehicle registrations.

As of 12:30 p.m., the Department of Revenue says nothing can be processed at any of their locations or county locations.

News5 viewers report the problem started well before noon today.

Pueblo County Clerk and Recorder Gilbert Ortiz posted the following at 2:25 p.m. Friday:

We are closing the Motor Vehicle office of the Pueblo County Clerk because the Statewide Voter Registration System is down, and we have not been notified when it will be operational. When you come in on Monday, just let our clerks know that you where here on Friday and the late charge will not be added to your registration. I apologize for any inconvenience.

This isn’t the first time the system has gone offline, but there’s no word if this is related to other recent outages since the state’s 35-year-old system was upgraded in early August.
