DOUGLAS COUNTY – Fire crews in Douglas County continue keeping an eye on the Turkey Track 8 Fire that’s burned 160 acres southwest of Highway 67.
Investigators have already determined the fire was started Monday night by people shooting at the nearby Turkey Track shooting area.

Firefighters are familiar with the shooting area. This is the 8th fire at the range just this year, hence the name of Turkey Track 8 Fire.
According to the U.S. Forest Service, two engine crews are on site Thursday improving the fire-line and patrolling the perimeter. The latest update reports crews have 75% containment on the fire that’s being allowed to burn out.
