Pueblo Stolen Truck Suspect
Pueblo Police are looking for a suspect who hit a police officer while fleeing in a stolen truck.

PUEBLO – Law enforcement is on the lookout for a suspect who hit a Pueblo Police Officer trying to talk to the man seen behind the wheel of a stolen truck.

According to police, Officer Brian Gowin saw the man sleeping inside the truck near the old Safeway on W. 29th Street around 6 a.m. today.

Before the officer was able to reach the driver’s side window, he was informed the truck was reported stolen out of Lamar. Officer Gowin ordered the man to get out of the car, but he refused, instead starting it up and driving away.

Pueblo Police say the bed of the truck hit the officer, who was not seriously injured, before he was able to jump back in the patrol car for a brief chase.

The suspect continued to ignore attempts to get him to pull over, then started driving dangerously. Due to safety concerns, the officer stopped the pursuit at Highway 50 and Elizabeth.
