Long Hollow Fire burning on 5.2 acres in Douglas County

DOUGLAS COUNTY – Fire crews with the U.S. Forest Service continue working a small fire in Douglas County on South Platte Road.

On Monday the Long Hollow Fire was reportedly 1-acre in size. As of Tuesday afternoon,  it is now at 5.2 acres with no containment.

You may still see smoke visible from Larkspur to Monument and even in Colorado Springs. Multiple people called 911 on Monday to report the fire from afar.

Crews working the fire include U.S. Forest Service personnel, Douglas County cooperative resources, a large airtanker and helicopter crews.

The fire is under investigation but is believed to be human-caused.
