Fountain PD K-9 helps Custer County bust meth suspects

CUSTER COUNTY – A man and a woman from Pueblo are in the Custer County Jail on drug charges following a bust on County Road 255

On Sunday, the sheriff’s office called for assistance from a Fountain Police Department K-9 team as the served a search warrant to the home northeast of Westcliffe.

Deputies seized 7.3 grams of methamphetamine, materials to make the drug, and products used to distribute the drugs.

Sharla Rae Matchen is charged with distribution of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Felix Gallegoes is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

The Sheriff’s Office was happy to have the assistance of K-9 handler Jon Kay, security partner Matthew Angoy, and of course the sense of K-9 Phoenix.
