Gas explosion

RUSH – The Miami-Yoder School JT60 District announced it is canceling classes on Thursday and Friday due to an “ongoing maintenance issue.”

Classes were also canceled Wednesday following an explosion on campus Tuesday afternoon. That explosion left one man with burns on his hands and face, but his injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Tri-County Fire Volunteer Fire Department told News 5 Tuesday night that a crew was working in a pit to fix the sprinkler system at the school when an electric charge ignited a gas line, causing the explosion.

The district has not yet said if classes will resume Monday.
