Florence Police arrested 40-year-old Kenneth Andon following a short chase on July 31, 2018.

Florence Police announced Thursday they arrested a man wanted for multiple crimes following a short chase with officers on Tuesday.

Police said they arrested 40-year-old Kenneth Andon when he refused to stop for a traffic stop around 7:40 a.m. Tuesday. Florence Police said Andon hit an officer’s cruiser, and tried to run away on foot. Police caught up to him and arrested him without further incident.

Police said Andon was arrested on suspicion of assault on a police officer, reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, eluding, resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and previous warrants.

Andon was also wanted by Pueblo County deputies and evaded capture when they raided a sheet metal business where he was believed to be staying on July 19.

In that raid, deputies seized methamphetamine, an AK-47 a stolen car and illegal gaming equipment. Three others were arrested in connection to that raid, but Andon was one of the two primary suspects wanted in the raid.
