COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed in an auto-pedestrian crash on Nov. 27 as 50-year-old Ramon Grajeda-Gonzalez of Colorado Springs.

It happened in the 1200 block of N. Academy Blvd at approximately 6:23 p.m.

The Major Crash Team determined Grajeda-Gonzalez tried to cross the street (not in a crosswalk) when he was hit by a car. Despite life-saving efforts, Grajeda-Gonzalez died on scene. The driver of the car remained on scene, and it does not appear that excessive speed or impairment are factors in this crash.

The southbound lanes of N. Academy Blvd were closed between E San Miguel St. and E. Uintah St for a few hours while the crash was being investigated.

This was the 47th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs in 2020.
