1 dead, 1 injured in two different auto-pedestrian crashes

COLORADO SPRINGS — Colorado Springs police are investigating two auto-pedestrian accidents that happened just an hour apart Monday night.

The first accident happened at 10:32 p.m. at the intersection of North Circle Drive and Galley Road.

According to police, a vehicle was driving southbound and hit a woman, who was crossing the road. The vehicle then continued southbound and left the area. The woman was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.

Just an hour late, at 11:34 p.m., officers responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian accident in the 400 block of West Garden of the Gods. When they arrived on the scene, they found out that a vehicle driving eastbound hit a pedestrian, who was crossing the road. Medical responded and pronounced the victim dead on the scene.
