PUEBLO — Taxpayer money could be going toward improving a park in Pueblo.
$1.5 million from the Pueblo County 1-A fund is planned to go to Minnequa Lake Park.
If approved, park shelters, a playground, turf, and other amenities will be added to the park.
"It has been a goal of mine for like years. We've been working on Lake Minnequa for a good 15 years, trying to get this into a community park and it is so exciting to see this next phase coming," said Parks and Recreation Director Steven Meier.
Another $1 million could be going to the park as well, for add ons and improvements.
The money request still has to be approved by Pueblo City Council.
