Snow making has begun at Arapahoe Basin ski area! Thursday night temperatures dipped enough for snow makers to fire up the machines. Snow makers at A Basin have been training and testing the equipment since last week.
According to Alan Henceroth, it wasn’t a big night of snow making but it was a productive and important night. “It is good to run the system and work out any kinks. A snow making system has miles and miles of machines and equipment. Most of that gear lives outside and is exposed to weather and wildlife. Testing is good, running the system under real conditions is even better.”
Loveland Ski Area has also been testing their snow guns and plans on making snow in the next week or so, weather permitting.
