Pueblo County high school students can apply for marijuana tax funded scholarship

PUEBLO COUNTY – Students in Pueblo County will be able to apply for special scholarship money starting on Friday.

Pueblo Cannabis Hope Scholarships are funded by the Pueblo County Scholarship Fund using money from the marijuana excise tax in the county.

The scholarship fund collects half of the revenue generated by the tax for students who are graduating from high schools in Pueblo County.

To date, more than $3.1 million dollars in scholarship money has been awarded to more than 670 unduplicated students.

Here is the schedule of deadlines:

  • Application database opens on Friday, September 21, 2018
  • Application database closes on Friday, October 12, 2018
  • Review period is the week of October 15th – 19th
  • Awarding scholarships the week of October 22nd -26th
