NBC – The U.S. State Department wants you to be cautious and aware if you are traveling outside the country this summer.

Currently, there are 57 countries on the State Department’s travel advisory list, ranging from Level 2 to Level 4, and some are popular vacation destinations.

Here is what each level means:

Level 1: Exercise normal precautions.

Level 2: Exercise increased cautions.

Level 3: reconsider travel.

Level 4: do not travel.

Included in the level 2 category, which means to “exercise increased caution,” are the United Kingdom, France, Spain and the Bahamas.

If you are planning a trip abroad, be sure to check out the travel advisories on the U.S. State Department’s website.

Also, make sure you review the crime and safety reports for the countries you are traveling to.
