US – The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of around 9,000 snowmobiles made by Arctic Cat.

According to the CPSC, the exhaust can flame from the muffler outlet, creating a fire hazard.

The recall involves 2018 and 2019 Arctic Cat models M8000, XF8000, ZR8000, and Norseman X8000.

Owners of these models should contact Arctic Cat to schedule a free repair.

According to the CPSC, the company is also contacting known purchasers directly.

Arctic Cat has received 70 reports of melting plastic near the exhaust and four reports of the plastic catching fire. However, no injuries have been reported.
