TSA employee at DIA arrested on child sex assault charges

Denver – After being arrested at Denver International Airport, a 34-year old TSA employee is now facing charges of three counts of sexual assault on a child, three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, two counts of sexual assault on a child as a pattern of abuse, and four counts of committing an aggravated sex offense.

According to 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young, Matthew Paul Barnett of Thornton faces those charges for his alleged involvement with three young girls. Exactly where the assaults occurred is unknown.
Barnett is scheduled to appear in an Adams County Courtroom to be advised of the charges next week.

The details of the assaults, the children’s names and information on the investigation leading up to the arrest are not being released at this time.
