WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Drug Enforcement Administration is looking for a contractor that can burn up to 1,000 pounds of marijuana an hour near Houston.

The agency is looking at municipal waste management sites and solid waste incinerator sites.

According to the posting, there are several requirements for the contract, including on-site closed-circuit video recording and drug tests and background checks for all employees involved in the burn operation, and the ability to burn bulk marijuana and other evidence for up to 8 hours per day.

The Houston Chronicle reports a DEA agent will be on site during burn operations.

Along with Houston, the agency is looking in nearby cities including Brownsville, Corpus Christi, Laredo, and McAllen.
