It’s time to file those taxes! Here in southern Colorado on average it costs $174 to file, but we have a way you can get help filing for free.

We all know it can be overwhelming and time consuming to file your taxes. Luckily, IRS certified accounting students at PPCC are there to help.

You can qualify for free help if your household income is under $55,000. It starts this Saturday at the Centennial Campus. You do have to make an appointment though. Just call (719) 502-4TAX (4829) or email TaxHelpCO@PPCC.edu to get it scheduled!

The whole process takes about an hour! You can speed things up if you bring all the necessary paperwork ahead of time. Plus, this isn’t the only place you can get your taxes done for free.

United Way in Colorado Springs and Pueblo are also offering free tax help for families making $55,000 or less.
In Colorado Springs you can call 211 to schedule your appointment.

Pueblo will start their service next Monday, February 4th. No appointment is necessary. Sessions will be on a first come first serve basis. Different tax sites will open on specific days of the week. Those locations are:

Monday – Minnequa Apartments, 1400 E Orman – 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. beginning Feb. 4
