NEW YORK – A random attacked turned deadly for a chef at a Brooklyn restaurant Tuesday evening.

A man wielding a hammer burst into the Seaport Buffet and attacked the 34-year-old chef, killing him and critically injuring the 60-year-old owner and a 50-year-old worker.

All three victims were taken to the hospital where the chef died of his injuries.

An employee from the buffet apparently ran to a restaurant next door to warn them, saying the man with the hammer was screaming about “killing everybody” and the “world is hell.”

Witnesses told police they saw the suspect run toward a garage behind the restaurant where an officer arrested him just a few blocks away.

Police say the motive behind the deadly attack is unclear.
