Former Broncos Quarterback Tim Tebow announced on Instagram that he is engaged to his girlfriend Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters.
She won the 2017 Miss Universe pageant and Tebow told ESPN that he started dating her last July.
Tebow was a former first-round pick of the Broncos in 2010. He sat for most of his first season but took over for the Broncos after a 1-3 start and led them to an 8-8 record, which was good enough to win the AFC West. He is best known among Broncos fans for quarterbacking a memorable overtime win in the wild-card round against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Broncos then lost to the Patriots 45-10 in the next round of the postseason.
After the Broncos signed Peyton Manning in 2012, Denver traded Tebow to the New York Jets. He eventually went on to play for the Patriots and Eagles before he left pro football and began a career as a broadcaster.
In 2016, he signed with the New York Mets. In 2018, he played with the Mets’ double-A affiliate and batted .273 before an injury to his right hand ended his season early last July.
