Donut update: Following the now viral post involving Lexington Police and a charred donut delivery truck, Krispy Kreme will be dropping off donuts for officers.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Days after a viral tweet that’s been shared thousands of times across the Internet, Lexington Police were rewarded with their favorite food.
Krispy Kreme delivered doughnuts to officers Wednesday morning as a thank you for the viral post. The tweet that showed the officers visibly upset in front of a burned Krispy Kreme truck earned more than 118,000 likes as of Wednesday afternoon.

Krispy Kreme responded to the viral tweet last night, writing “We’re thinking of you during this difficult time…and have more doughnuts on the way!”
Lexington Police even escorted the delivery vehicle to the police station to ensure the safe delivery of the treats.
