ATLANTA – Police said a 9-year-old boy was hit by celebratory gunfire on the northwest side of Atlanta just after midnight Tuesday morning.
Atlanta police said the boy was shot in the abdomen while he was outside celebrating the New Year’s holiday with his family.
The boy is stable and is recovering at a hospital.
Police said they’re working to find the person who fired the shot, but no suspects have been named.
