MANITOU SPRINGS – A Fountain District 8 school bus slid off a road in Manitou Springs after taking a wrong turn Wednesday evening.
The bus was carrying the middle school boy’s basketball team from Carson Middle School when the driver got turned around in Manitou. On Peakview Blvd., the bus slid off the road and was left in a precarious position with a tree supporting the vehicle at the back end.
All 21 students and two adults that were on the bus were able to exit the vehicle and are safe. There were no injuries.
At this time, officials say they don’t know how they will get the bus down from the hillside.
Fountain District 8 said that due to the timing of the incident, the basketball game was canceled and the students are being transported back to Carson Middle School.
