COLORADO SPRINGS – Flu season is here! In fact, several people have already been hospitalized in El Paso County this season. If you think you’re coming down with the flu, it’s important to see a doctor as soon as possible. Here’s one way you can do just that in the comfort of your own home.

DispatchHealth’s traveling “Flu Crew” offers on-sight urgent care and comes straight to you! You can call them directly or simply download their app and request to see a doctor with the push of a button.

Here’s how it works. If you notice you’re coming down with the flu, or any other illness, you can contact DispatchHealth through the app or by phone and they’ll ask you a series of questions. Once they have the information they need they’ll give you an estimated time of arrival and send an ER team directly to your door.
Doctors can run tests, administer the first dose of medicine and even provide IV fluids if necessary.

“If you can’t get in to see your primary care provider same day, or they don’t have after-hours availability we’re a great option and we work as an extension of them,” said Melanie Plaksin with DispatchHealth. “We’re able to come directly to you, treat you, understanding that you’re sick now.”

DispatchHealth is in-network with every insurance and usually looks like an urgent care visit in terms of the cost. They also accept Medicare, Medicaid and Tri-Care. One of the best parts? As soon as you call, they’ll let you know exactly how much you’ll be charged.

DispatchHealth doctors are on call available 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
