COLORADO SPRINGS – Saturday afternoon around 2:30 p.m., CSPD officers from the Stetson Hills Division responded to a home in the 2600 block of Pony Track Drive.
CSPD said their investigation revealed an adult male and female were moving weapons they had just acquired from a vehicle to a residence when one of the weapons discharged and struck the female in the leg.
The male was reportedly attempting to make one of the weapons empty and safe when it discharged.
CSPD said the female received non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment
According to CSPD, the male, identified as 30-year-old Richard Hernandez, was cited for Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon and released.
