SPRING, Texas – Deputies in Texas are investigating the case of a woman caught on a doorbell camera leaving a 2-year-old boy on a front porch and running away.
Deputies in Montgomery County, Texas said they got a call around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday from a woman who said she heard a knock on the door and opened it to find a 2-year-old boy alone on her porch.
Surveillance video shows the woman run to the door, lifting the child in the air by one arm and ringing the doorbell multiple times. After that, she’s seen running to her car leaving the boy and two bags she was carrying behind.
According to NBC affiliate KPRC, the boy’s father came forward this morning saying the woman seen in the video is a friend who was supposed to drop the child off at his house, but instead dropped him at a neighbor’s house.
Sheriff’s deputies said child protective services took custody of the child and he appears to be in good health.
Authorities have not released the name of the woman or if she may face charges for leaving the child alone.
