Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh marks his first day on the bench Tuesday, following a rare apology from President Donald Trump, during a public swearing-in ceremony at the White House Monday.
“What happened to the Kavanaugh family violates every notion of fairness, decency and due process,” said Mr. Trump.
President Trump will be touting Kavanaugh’s confirmation on the campaign trail this week to keep the fire hot in four key races ahead of November’s midterm elections.
Both Republicans and Democrats say the Kavanaugh battle has energized their voters, but experts predict gender, not party, will determine the election.
“We could be surprised at the scale of the turnout among women including younger women in this country,” said Former Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes.
Early voting is already underway in several states. Election Day is November 6.
