PUEBLO – Pueblo Police say a man died in a single-motorcycle crash after he punched through the windows of a home with his bare fists causing significant blood loss Sunday night.

Pueblo Police officers responded to the crash at the intersection of Cody Avenue and Norwood Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Fire and rescue personnel performed CPR on the motorcyclist but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

In conducting the investigation, officers learned that 47-year-old Christopher Lobato was involved in property damage at a home in the 2100 block of N Ogden Ave just before the crash.

The reporting party told officers that Lobato punched out the windows of the home with his bare fists just before leaving on his motorcycle. Pueblo Police said there was a substantial blood trail from the home to where Lobato’s motorcycle was parked.

Police also found a laceration on one of Lobato’s arms indicating significant blood loss. Investigators say early indications are that blood loss contributed to the crash.

Lobato was reportedly not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Alcohol is being also considered a factor.

The crash remains under investigation.
