COLORADO SPRINGS – A major crash on Highway 94 at N. Marksheffel Rd is blocking traffic in both directions, and may remain closed for some time due to a fuel spill.
Our News5 photographer on the scene says the crash involves a Blue Rhino truck, which transports small propane tanks, and a small SUV.
A heavy rescue unit was called to the crash along with many other units to help with trapped patients inside one vehicle. Fortunately, the two people only suffered minor injuries.
As of 7:30 p.m, law enforcement is at the intersection directing traffic in the following manner:
- Northbound Marksheffel Rd. traffic diverted to westbound Highway 94
- Southbound Marksheffel Rd. is OPEN to all traffic
- Eastbound Highway 94 traffic diverted onto southbound Marksheffel
- Westbound Highway 94 traffic being turned around and onto eastbound Highway 94
To get around the blockage you could use Bradley Rd. to the south in order to connect with Curtis Rd., then Highway 24 to head east. Or use the opposite directions if you are traveling west.
