BERTHOUD – Berthoud Fire Protection District firefighters spent Monday morning rescuing a 5-day-old baby goat that got stuck in an irrigation pipe.

The little kid, named Wilson, got stuck followed his brothers and sisters into an irrigation pipe and got stuck there, firefighters said. The owners attempted to free Wilson but after a number of failed attempts, called for help.

Berthoud firefighters arrived on scene and assisted in digging out 20 feet of 12-inch concrete pipe to get access to the kid. Once the pipe where Wilson was stuck in was loosened, fire crews pulled the helpless animal free.

Wilson was stuck in some mud in the irrigation pipe and was comforted by firefighters when he was set free. Firefighters said he called for his momma and “happily pranced” alongside her when they were reunited.

Berthoud Fire Protection District posted photos of the adorable rescue to their Facebook page.
