A missing endangered teen from Teller County is now safe after she was found by police in Laredo, Texas. According to the Teller County Sheriff’s Office, police in Texas have now opened a sexual assault investigation as a result of the recovery of the 15-year-old.
So far it is unknown if a suspect is in custody. The Teller County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information on the case to contact them at 719-687-9652, press option 6.
She was reported missing on August 1st as she was last seen at the Teller County Fairgrounds near Cripple Creek.
The Sheriff’s Office said she is a “low-functioning adolescent” and thus may allow herself to be placed in a dangerous situation.
