Colorado Springs – Students at UCCS will soon have the resources of the resources of the Catholic Church available to them on campus.
The Diocese of Colorado Springs recently purchased a 3.3 acre piece of property off Stanton Road, which will be the new home of a Catholic ministry center.
The church said it’s been a goal of theirs to bring spiritual support and counseling to students and faculty for years, and this outreach is a big step in accomplishing that goal.
“It’s very, very important to me also as a priest,” said Father Kyle Ingles, Director of Campus Ministry. “I mean, part of being available and part of being in the community is helping others members of the university community.”
The $5 million project is expected to be complete in about two years. The Diocese closed on the property Wednesday.
