Severe weather threat moves east as storms drift out of El Paso County

Posted

The National Weather Service has allowed the severe thunderstorm warning for El Paso County to expire Wednesday night.

El Paso County is no longer under any severe weather warnings or watches as of 9:45 p.m.

Counties on the eastern plains remain under a severe thunderstorm watch until 1 a.m.

Earlier on Wednesday, El Paso County was under multiple severe thunderstorm warnings and a flash flood warning for Woodland Park, Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs along Fountain Creek.

The warning was allowed to expire as floodwaters receded in the area. No damage was reported Wednesday, but it marked the third consecutive day of flash flood warnings for the area, which experienced a flooding emergency Monday.

Unfortunately, the First Alert 5 weather team is expecting conditions that could lead to severe weather Thursday afternoon. Remain vigilant on Thursday and pay attention to the First Alert 5 weather and news apps to stay updated on the latest threats in our area.
