A man is in serious condition at Parkview Hospital in Pueblo Friday morning after being shot and stabbed several times.
Pueblo Police believe the incident happened somewhere in Otero County Thursday night, but at this time, it’s unclear exactly where.
The injured victim and another man were found just before midnight inside a car pulled over on Highway 96, south of the airport.
Investigators said the driver had three stab wounds and a gunshot wound behind his jaw. The passenger was uninjured.
Police said it appears the men were trying to make it to the hospital in Pueblo, but the injured driver could go no further and had to pull over.
Friday morning, the driver is in surgery at Parkview.
No suspect information has been released at this time. News 5 will update this story once we learn more.
