Over 800 people will gather for breakfast in downtown Colorado Springs this morning to raise money for the fight against youth homelessness. It’s all part of the annual "Off the Street Breakfast" and this year Urban Peak is making a big announcement!

They’re planning to open a drop-in center for homeless youth. The money raised from this year’s breakfast will go towards the new center, as well as various shelter and housing program. Organizers tell us they’re hoping to raise $170,000 this year.

"Funds from the Off The Street Breakfast will support our current work, and help us to launch the new Drop In Center," said Shawna Kemppainen, Executive Director. "We must deepen the support to your with the most challenges right now so that they can change the trajectory of their lives and not languish in homelessness as they become adults."

The event is RSVP only, but they’re are still ways you can help. Click here to donate.
