Authorities in Missouri confirmed at least 11 people are dead after a boat capsized on a lake near Branson Thursday night.

The Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader said a duck boat capsized around 7 p.m. Thursday, when a severe storm was moving over Table Rock Lake, which is located just to the west of Branson.

Winds as high as 60 mph were reported in the area at the time of the accident.

Rader says an off-duty sheriff’s deputy working security helped rescue people. He said seven people are being treated for injuries and recovery efforts are ongoing, with some passengers still unaccounted for. It’s being classified as a "Level two" mass casualty incident.

Sheriff Rader said a total of 31 people were on board, including children.

Divers are searching the area for victims. Authorities said the boat sunk and is still in the water.
