A 19-year-old man was struck by lightning Saturday afternoon while he and his girlfriend were camping in Ruby Gulch in Boulder County.
Our reporting partner in Denver, KUSA reports that the man was standing next to a tent when the lightning struck.
The man’s girlfriend began resuscitation efforts while she called 911. She was able to get the man in their car and drove to meet medical personnel at Highway 72 north of Nederland.
KUSA reports the man was taken to a Boulder area hospital. There is no word on his condition at this time, but deputies said he was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the hospital.
