Driver allegedly struck pedestrian on purpose in hit and run crash

A driver allegedly struck a pedestrian on purpose in a grocery store parking lot in Colorado Springs Friday morning.

The apparent auto-pedestrian, hit and run crash was reported just before 11 a.m. at 3620 Austin Bluffs Parkway. Stetson Hills Division officers of Colorado Springs Police assisted a victim that was found in the parking lot with non-life threatening, serious bodily injury. 

Information obtained through the investigation led officers to believe the pedestrian was hit on purpose by the driver, according to CSPD. Detectives of the Violent Crimes Unit responded to assist in the investigation.

The follow-up investigation revealed the driver intentionally hit the victim to run them down. Colorado Springs Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect car.

The car is described as 1989 Gold Honda Accord, Washington plate AQW0346. The driver is described as a white man, approximately 30 years old with blonde hair and is clean shaven.

Police described the passenger as a 20-30 year old white female, with dark hair. Anyone with information or is a witness to this investigation is asked to call CSPD at (719) 444-7000.
