A Texas teeanger says he was attacked for wearing a "Make American Great Again" hat.
According to witnesses, it happened Tuesday night at a Whataburger restaurant.
The teenagers said they were shocked and said they didn’t provoke the man, who has been identified as Kino Jimenez. They posted the video online to try to find the man, but it went viral, and now people are posting the address where they believe the attacker might live.
"I was looking at the comments by some people and ‘ they are like this is uncalled for’ and other people are like mixed opinions," said 16-year-old Hunter Richard, who had the drink thrown at him. "I didn’t think it would blow up to what it is now."
However, Jimenez’s younger brother says people have been showing up at his house looking for his brother.
"We’ve got strangers coming to our door, asking for him. We feel we are in danger." said the suspect’s brother.
He chose to remain anonymous because he fears for his safety. He said he condemns his brother’s actions.
"Regardless of whether it was provoked or not. You know, when someone comes at you, if it looks like provocation, you are not supposed to rise up to it because you just prove them right."
Jimenez was arrested and charged with theft.
