All 10 buildings in the Fountain-Fort Carson School District sustained some sort of damage from Tuesday night’s storm.
The district said the majority of damage was to surfaces, including skylights and roofs. The hail was reportedly baseball sized in the area, as it was found on some of the buildings Wednesday morning.
According to a release, buildings on Fort Carson also sustained minor damage on post. Buses sustained only minor damage, but the district’s small vehicle fleet was heavily impacted with lots of body damage and a number of windshields needing replacement.
The district says it is still assessing final damage numbers and amounts, but could take a while until that is complete.
