If you happen to be in the market for a historic hotel, you’re in luck.

The Hotel St. Cloud in Canon City is being put up for sale by the non-profit organization Future of Yesterday Foundation.

The organization said it doesn’t have the money to finish restoring the building, which is one of the oldest standing hotels in Colorado. In fact, the building has so much history and and significance that its on the National Historic Register of Historic Places.

"That building right there is one of the most beautiful buildings in my eyes", said Canon City resident, Cathy Finney. "I think it showcases our town and what we can be. It is a future, it is a hope and a vision, and we have let it go to waste."

The city has also released at statement on the sale of the building. "The city is interested in seeing the Hotel St. Cloud redeveloped. Private industry is the most efficient way for this to be done, either through a direct developer or through a public, private partnership. We sincerely hope that the auction will bring a developer to the table who can complete this project."
