A federal grand jury indicted a man accused of resisting and assaulting a federal employee at the U.S. Penitentiary in Florence in January.
Thirty-one-year-old Avery White is suspected of injuring a federal bureau of prisons employee in early January this year.
The indictment said the victim suffered a concussion, a bruise above the left eyebrow and a slight injury to the person’s left wrist. The victim also said they had headaches for several weeks after the incident.
White is facing two counts of assaulting and resisting a federal employee. Both of those counts carry a maximum penalty of not more than 8 and 20 years imprisonment, respectively, and a $250,000 fine.
