Downtown Colorado Springs will start to look a little different in the coming months.

The 20th annual "Art on the Streets" exhibit will transform the visual aesthetic of downtown as new pieces are put on display.

The art will be displayed in a two-mile radius downtown and will feature works from around the world.

While the current exhibits are up, the public can vote on their favorites and the winning artist will receive $1,000 prize.

Claire Swingford with The Downtown Partnership told News 5 that this exhibit is unlike any experience you can have in a traditional museum or gallery because you can enjoy it while living your daily life.

"That’s what makes us different from a museum, you don’t have to pay admission, you don’t have to do anything special," said Swingford. "And you can touch the pieces, which we like."

If you download the free Otocast app, you can explore the exhibits with commentary from the artists who created the works.

Voting for the best work will be open through Memorial Day weekend.  Those who vote will be eligible to win a $100 Downtown gift card. To vote, send the following information to info@downtowncs.com

  • Your full name and zip code
  • Your favorite sculpture from this year’s exhibit
  • A few words on why you like it

All of the artworks in the "Art on the Streets" exhibit are for sale. To inquire about a work, call (719) 886 – 0088.
