Suspected Planned Parenthood gunman to appear in court Monday

The accused gunman in the Planned Parenthood attack in November of 2015, is due back in an El Paso County courtroom on Monday.

It’s still not clear if Robert Dear is mentally competent to stand trial. During his last court appearance in February, Dear was ordered to stay in the state mental hospital in pueblo to continue treatment.

In January, an appeals court found doctors could forcibly medicate him with anti-psychotic drugs. 

The shooting on November 27th, 2015, left three people dead and nine others injured. A police officer and two civilians were killed; five police officers and four civilians were injured.

Robert Dear was taken into custody after a five hour long standoff.
