The Colorado Springs police released video of a deadly officer involved shooting involving a man wanted for a misdemeanor warrant on December 2nd, 2017.
Christopher Willard was shot and killed while Colorado Springs Police officers tried to take him into custody near downtown.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, which is handled the investigation, said Willard resisted arrest and got into a fight with officers.
He drew a pistol which led the officers to shoot. The suspect was taken the the hospital where he died from his injuries. The officers involved sustained minor injuries. It is not clear how they were injured.
This all happened around 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of S. Nevada Avenue as the Festival of Lights parade was underway just up the road in downtown.
