The City of Colorado Springs is asking for feedback on its vision for the next 15 years of North Cheyenne Cañon.

The new Cheyenne Canon Master Plan calls for expanding the total mileage of trails from 19 miles to 35 miles over the next 15 years, and adding additional trailheads.

The city said more than 350 Colorado Springs residents participated in drafting the plan.

”That plan should really reflect on the comments that we’ve received to date, and most specifically, what we’ve received out of the last month, said Parks, Trails and Open Space Planner David Deitemeyer. "I’m confident that it’s gonna be well supported.”

The city is also considering using a shuttle to reduce congestion in the park along with other new traffic control options and parking options. Those proposals would be approved later and are not a part of the master plan.
