While pumpkin spice creeps into our summer with products in stores before fall begins — Starbucks brought back the pumpkin spice latte in August — Häagen-Dazs is making sure peppermint has a few months to shine as well.

In good news for those already over pumpkin spice but bad news for those prefer to take things one season at a time, Häagen-Dazs’ peppermint bark ice cream will be hitting shelves beginning Oct. 1! Yup, that’s just after fall officially begins and before Halloween.

Usually reserved for the holiday season, the treat combines white chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate peppermint bark and peppermint candy. You’ll find it in pints or ice cream bars, both for around $5.29 each. The ice cream will be available in Häagen-Dazs shops starting Nov. 1.

Häagen-Dazs

Häagen-Dazs isn’t the only company that makes peppermint bark ice cream, but it may be the first one to hit the stores this season. Blue Bell announced the release of their peppermint bark ice cream via Instagram on Oct. 25 last year, so odds are it will be available around the same time again.

Unfortunately, however, the Texas-based brand is only sold in certain areas of the country, so only some very lucky peppermint fans will be able to try that one.

Here’s the @bluebellicecream post from last year:

If you don’t think you can make it until Oct. 1, Coffee mate will be releasing both their peppermint mocha and a brand new natural bliss dark chocolate peppermint creamer in September. It’s not ice cream, but it’ll certainly be a delicious addition to your coffee!

The returning peppermint mocha blends creamer with peppermint and rich mocha, while the dark chocolate peppermint merges real milk, cocoa peppermint extract and cream. They will both be sold in 16-ounce bottles for around $3.29.

Lastly, Oreo has already confirmed their winter cookies will be hitting shelves at the end of October, though they have not mentioned peppermint bark — yet. They did have them last year and they’re still listed on Target’s website (as not in stock), so keep an eye out for those as well.

Will you be letting peppermint season interrupt your pumpkin spice treats? Or will you wait a bit longer before switching to holiday flavors?
